Homepage of the USA

We have an information crisis. People are bombarded constantly with low quality information and propaganda. We expect news organizations in the market to compete based on the quality of their offerings. The problem is that their customer is the advertiser, not the consumer. This creates a perverse incentive to maximize ad revenue at the expense of delivering news and information.

Time to pull the rug out from under these media companies. Sorry if it runs them out of business. They should have thought about that while they were stabbing us in the back instead of delivering news.

We need a guaranteed safe place on the Internet where we can start our browsing journey. A place where the content is safe for and adults. A place where the news is actually news that you can trust. A beacon of truth in a fog of misinformation.

• A social media platform owned by the general public
• Managed by a democracy of high school students
  • Same structure as the federal government
  • Legislators elected from all public high schools
• Has a homepage with news and educational information.

Like the evolution of PBS where it's governed by the will of the educated. Kinda neat, eh?

• It is educational for adults and children
• Lets high school folks experience the democratic process
• It will always be a safe place on the Internet for any American of any age. If a toddler sees your computer screen with the site loaded, you can rest assured that what they see is ok.
• It has news and factual information with no opinion or propaganda.
• We can twiddle the knobs of democracy without breaking the real thing.
  • If we had tested political parties here, we would have known how terrible they are.

I could write ten pages of features right now, but I will not. This system belongs to the public and it would be wrong of me to take your agency.
