Frequently Asked Questions

What is your mission?

To strengthen and defend American Democracy.

So are you left or right?

You're funny. I like you.

If I did everything correctly then conservatives will think my values are progressive, and progressives will think my values are conservative.

What is your position on policy?

I prefer to keep my personal positions private. I favor policies that protect the individual voter and improve our Democratic process.

How can I donate to your cause?

We do not accept donations. It's not the type of cause where you can write a check to feel all warm and fuzzy. You'll need to pick up a sign and stand on a street having traffic.

Can our organization partner with you?

No.

Can our organization interview you?

Probably not.

What question would you ask a socialist candidate?

How many boxes of roofing nails will your economy need to produce next year?

Did you write this with ChatGPT?

No. I don't think ChatGPT is capable of novel thought.

Why do you hate AI so much?

I don't hate AI. I just think a machine cannot legally have authority because

  1. They don't inherit rights from natural law.
  2. They lack agency to independently make decisions. They are always under the control of others.

The value of ideas

At the risk of sounding vapid I personally believe that ideas will be currency in the age of AI and we will need to create the tools that let us transform them into reality.

I view conventional ideas as the default in our society. This is how things should be until we think of something better. New ideas come in and after analyzing the total cost and benefit to society maybe it's good and others agree, maybe it's bad and should be rejected, or maybe it just needs work. Think of conventional ideas as the "control", and new ideas as the "experiment".

One idea that that I intend to demonstrate is the value of cooperative capitalism over market capitalism. Market capitalism will tell you that money is everything and that we stand no chance because our opponents are several orders of magnitude more wealthy than we are. I intend to demonstrate through the power of this movement how their neoliberal models fail and why cooperative models are better.
